The „Club of the Republic“ is our proposal for a new use of the empty Palace of the Republic. A model of the PDR in scale 1:50. Inside a subwoofer is playing „Rhythm 76“ in a loop, composed by Carsten Nicolai. The bass-sound-waves make the window-glass vibrate, it feels like standing outside a club. The PDR has been the last „object of desire“ of the Berlin club culture, that used to settle in a lot of empty buildings in Berlin temporarily before their final sales or demolitions.
